In the deep south of New Zealand lies one of the most intriguing winemaking regions in the world. Renowned for its Pinot Noir, Central Otago is unforgettable – for its splendour and its flavour complexity.
Nestled around these exposed peaks lies the jagged Kawarau River. It’s Southern banks experience harsh winters, hot summers and long autumns - remarkable seasonal contrast. The ripening period here varies; from the higher-altitude western Gibbston Valley – where it’s longer, down to the warmer, drier eastern Bannockburn area - where the vines creating our lauded Pinot Noir wines are grown. Our Bannock Brae Pinot Noir is our flagship wine, typically always receiving 5 star reviews and gold medals.
